Where our information comes from
Botanical Gardens Near Me is an independent directory of botanical gardens, arboretums and conservatories in the United States. We are not part of any garden and gardens don’t pay to be listed.
The list of gardens
Our starting list comes from Wikipedia’s state-by-state lists of botanical gardens and arboretums, used under the CC BY-SA 4.0 license. Every state and city page links to the list it came from. Map locations come from those lists; when a list has no coordinates, we place the garden at the center of its city and say the distance is approximate.
Hours, admission and highlights
- We take hours, admission, parking, dog rules, highlights (like a Japanese garden or conservatory) and accessibility only from the garden’s own website.
- Each garden page links to the page we used and shows the date we checked it.
- When we haven’t checked a garden yet, its page says so and shows no hours. We never guess.
- A garden is tagged with a highlight only if its own site lists it, or its name says it (for example, a garden called a rose garden).
Hours change
Most gardens change their hours with the seasons and close for events. Please check the garden’s website before you go, and tell us if something here is out of date.
